I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES....
It really doesn't have anything to do with FREEKS other than it's all our friends, but these photos are from the annual race up at Eilenberger's house in Henniker. This was around 1994 or 95. Our friend Wes Eaton got so amped watching everyone pound around in their beaters, that he ran out to the street and got his own car...the same one he needed to drive to work the next day....and decided to try it too. It didn't work. Someone put a rock through the windshield about five minutes later.

I found this after the Concord Monitor printed that article on "The Band June". Then found your blog and pics.
In reference to this pic and a few others - I WAS THERE! That was so fun! I remember rigging one car that had no fuel pump to run from the Windshield washer bottle. Ran until the Washer motor quit.
Hysterical... Say hello to all the Hennikerites up there.
